Electroplating of aluminum alloy profiles refers to the process of applying a thin layer of other metals or alloys on the surface of aluminum alloy profiles using the principle of electrolysis, in order to achieve rust prevention, improve wear resistance, conductivity, reflectivity, corrosion resistance, and enhance aesthetics of aluminum profiles.

1. Aluminum alloy profiles have a high affinity for oxygen and are prone to the formation of oxide films. Once this oxide film is removed, a new oxide film will be formed in a very short period of time, seriously affecting the adhesion between aluminum alloy profiles and coatings;
2. The electrode potential of aluminum alloy profiles is very negative, and when immersed in electroplating solution, it is easy to replace metal ions with positive potential, affecting the bonding force between aluminum alloy profiles and coatings;
3. The expansion coefficient of aluminum alloy profiles is greater than that of other metals, so electroplating should not be carried out within a range of significant temperature changes. The difference in expansion coefficient between aluminum alloy profiles and other metal coatings will cause significant stress, resulting in weak adhesion between coatings and aluminum alloy profiles;
4. Aluminum alloy profiles are amphoteric metals that are soluble in acids and alkalis, and are unstable in both acidic and alkaline electroplating solutions.
